Jewish Women Stand Stronger When They Stand Together: Cazzie Who?

I’ve always been a supporter and protector of Jewish women because of everything Jewish women have endured. Jewish women stand stronger when we stand together. And I stand by that with my whole heart.

Now to my point: I honestly didn’t know who Cazzie David was – why would I? I didn’t know who her best guy friend was either, and I had zero reason to care, just for the record. But once I learned more, it became clear she chooses to support and protect Jewish men who have caused me harm on a global level, even though I never did anything to deserve it. As a Jewish woman, that makes it impossible for me to see her as someone who stands or protects Jewish women. Our values simple don’t align. I know what it means to show up for other Jewish women, and I would never do to another Jewish woman what she did. To me, it feels heartless, classless, and completely disconnected from the core values of Judaism – compassion, responsibility, and solidarity. And after everything the world witnessed on October 7th, it’s hard to understand how a Jewish woman could be so unaware of the impact of their choices.

Are we clear. I do not respect the way she has chosen to show up as a Jewish woman. I don’t do fake, I don’t do miserable, I don’t do jealous, and I don’t do mean-girl energy. It goes against everything I believe Jewish women should be for each other.

Sincerely,
