The Rabbit Hole: Being Touched After Being Sexually Assaulted

My sincere advice is to move at a pace that feels right for you, as rushing can lead to emotional overwhelm. In the aftermath of sexual assault, it is common to experience numbness, and physical intimacy may feel distant or disconnected. It is entirely healthy to see a meaningful and genuine connection with someone before engaging in intimacy, regardless of the expectations or pressures that society may impose.

I hope this offers support as you continue to heal. Please learn from my experience and my numbness, so that you can recognize harmful patterns early and protect yourself from further abuse.
