It continues to trouble me that I received a series of threatening text messages, including those sent from Las Vegas depicting a man beaten nearly to death. These messages were intended to intimidate me and silence me in 2011. This experience is one of the reasons I have returned to therapy, as some nights I still become fearful when I think about the ongoing threats. It is deeply unsettling that anyone would resort to such intimidation.
