I met Joe Crouthers on a dating app, and what began as a connection turned into a consensual dating and intimate relationship. What I did not consent to was being filmed, having hidden cameras in the room, or being exploited in any way. That was never part of our agreement.
The reality is that he lied to me from the moment we met until the moment we stopped speaking — from knowing who I was before approaching me, to pursing me while he was already in a relationship. Every layer of it was deception. I spent months in tears trying to understand how someone could treat another human being that way.
I no longer live in that emotional space, and I cannot imagine ever inflicting that kind of harm on anyone. What saddens me most is he truly believed he could get away with all of it. In my opinion, the only motive for such behavior would be money, control or blackmail.
But the tears have dried, and life continues to move forward.
And for the record, I had no idea who Joe Crouthers was when I met him, nor did I know that he knew Kenny Hamilton. Why would I? I met Joe years later after meeting Kenny Hamilton, and the photos with the dates makes his lies unmistakably clear.
