Let’s be honest: truly kind people do not orchestrate smear campaigns, nor do they fabricate stories about abuse or pretend they never knew you. Are we clear.
I noticed the photo of Selena Gomez and Kenny Hamilton. It’s an odd full-circle moment for anyone reading this who judged me or lied about me, considering I once met him, he dated someone I knew, and I briefly dated his friend — while Selena Gomez herself has never known me personally though she certainly knows who I am. Yet somehow, stories were spun about me, and none of them came from me.
What disappoints me is simple: I treated her with respect, and I even defended her and her behavior when our perspectives didn’t align. But when I was misrepresented and attacked, she offered no public clarity, no defense. She even supported an event allegedly connected to causes I could never endorse — causes that have harmed people from my own community. I did nothing to harm her, yet she remained silent when it mattered.
I am not a “mean girl,” and this was never a joke. It was premeditated. The truth is that many of you were misled — just not by me.
I’ll simply roll my eyes and move on.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Nicole Nelson, Principal Designer
