Financial control refers to the use of money, resources, or economic influence to limit another person’s independence, opportunities, or decision-making power. It can evolve restricting access to income, interfering with someone’s ability to earn, or creating conditions that foster dependency. This form of control may appear in personal relationships, professional environments, or broader social systems.
I have experienced circumstances in which I felt that others attempted to influence or restrict my personal, professional, spiritual, or financial gain or by an effort to benefit from my disadvantage. The behavior has felt manipulative, vindictive, and intentionally obstructive, leading me to believe that financial motives may be involved. It has been difficult to understand these patterns, and the impact has been significant. The idea that greed can drive harmful behavior resonates with how these experiences have felt.
My position is that deliberately preventing me from earning an income indicates someone is benefiting from that restriction. In my view, such interference is inappropriate and could constitute harmful and criminal conduct.
Are we clear.
Sincerely,
