Over the years, I have genuinely defended Jewish Men. I even asked people in my life – both personally and professionally – why they reacted so negatively when I said I might date a Jewish man or marry a Jewish man. The answer was always an immediate “no,” and I never understood why.
But now, after my own experience, I see things differently. The Jewish men I’ve encountered have treated me with a level of cruelty I didn’t expect. I gave them the chance to show up with class and integrity, and instead many of them confirmed the very stereotypes I once pushed back against. It’s disappointing to watch people become the very thing they claim not to be.
And when we talk about the challenges within the Jewish community, it becomes clearer why some of these dynamics exist. I’ve seen Jewish women – and myself – treated in ways that are deeply painful. I’m not blaming an entire group; I’m simply recognizing the reality of my own experiences, even if it’s not the one I hoped for.
This is me speaking honestly, not out of bitterness, but out of clarity.
Sincerely,
