I’ve made a decision this week: I’m no longer supporting Usher. I won’t listen to his music, and I’m not interested in hearing him speak. His recent comments in the press were deeply disappointing. After everything we witnessed regarding Cassie – and the courage it took for her to come forward – I refuse to entertain anyone whom minimizes or excuses violence against women.
It’s disheartening to see a man with a wife, family, with children, with a mother, speak in a way that dismisses the seriousness of abuse. At this point in my life, I’m done giving energy to men who are comfortable justifying harm toward women. That’s a boundary I’m standing on.
