Do you believe me now? I stepped away from reality TV years ago, and this past week has only reaffirmed why. What was once felt lighthearted and playful – like the early days with The Simple Life – has evolved into something far more troubling. We are now watching, and on many ways normalizing, women harming other women, mistreating and abusing their children, lashing out and abusing men, and displaying violent, chaotic behavior packaged as entertainment. It’s completely insane!
This behavior is not healthy for our minds, our bodies, or our spirits. And it certainly isn’t the model we want shaping the future of women and families around the world. The answer is simple: turn reality TV off. In time, you’ll be grateful you did.
Healthy minds do not normalize abuse.
